The Obsidian Empyrean Set has three frosted quartz crystal singing bowls: a 14 inch G#3 (203.9 Hz), a 12 inch C#4 (272.1 Hz) and a 10 inch G#4 (407.8 Hz), all tuned to 432Hz.

The bowls are 14 inches (35 cm), 12 inches (30 cm) and 10 inches (25 cm) across. They stack into one another in your padded case, so the whole set is easy to carry and store.

440Hz is the standard tuning for most instruments. Earth Angel Frequencies bowls are tuned to 432Hz, a slightly lower tuning that many people describe as softer and more soothing. A small 2019 double-blind pilot study of 33 volunteers found that music tuned to 432Hz was linked with a slightly lower heart rate than music tuned to 440Hz, though the research is still early. Crystal bowls are made of quartz, so treat them gently. Keep them in their padded case when you are not playing, rest them on their rubber rings, and avoid knocks or drops. Wipe them with a soft, dry cloth. Please inspect your set when it arrives and contact us right away if anything is damaged.

Neither is better; it depends on the work you want to do. Both play beautifully with the silicone mallets that come with your set. Our Empyrean bowls are also infused with genuine raw gemstone, which makes each one rare and different from the next. In this set, only the 10-inch G#4 is Empyrean, infused with genuine raw obsidian; the 14-inch and 12-inch bowls are frosted quartz.
